Finally Wordpress 2.7 final version is released after long testing. Just few days ago Wordpress 2.7 RC1 was released to work on all wordpress.com hosted blogs. I was waiting for wordpress 2.7 from many days but now this blog is also working on wordpress 2.7 .
This version of wordpress is codenamed as “Coltrane”. This codename is given to this wordpress release in honor of “John William Coltrane” a saxophonist.
If you are upgrading your wordpress, please make sure that you disabled plugin named “Lighter Menus” [If you are using it] else it will hide the menu of your wordpress admin panel.

- Automatic upgrade to next version from now [So bye bye to WPAU]
- Automatic upgrade to latest versions of Plugins
- Use Keyboard shortcuts in administration.
- Web 2.0 Graphics and style in Admin panel [WP-Admin] GUI
- Quickpress – Quickly publish post from Admin panel index.
- Wide screen support, older version was aligning itself to left of widescreen LCDs
After looking at the features you may think that this is not just another wordpress release, it will change the way of blogging. Wordpress being famous as blogging platform, it will prove that WP can be a good CMS for portal development too.
