Airtel, India’s largest mobile telephone operator stopped selling new Airtel Friends SIM cards in Maharashtra. Airtel recently launched new plan in India called Airtel Campus. But due to amazing offers and superb call rates people were not buying Airtel campus cards that’s why Airtel has to take this action.

Airtel Friends was countries largest sold SIM, most of the college going students have these SIM cards in there handsets. [Even me too have Airtel Friendz SIM in my Nokia N72]. Airtel’s last date of Friends SIM activation was 3rd November. I brought one Airtel Friends SIM few days ago, SIM was already activated on 3rd November.

I visited Airtel Gallery, they told me that from now no new Airtel Friends SIM will be available for customers. Many people are against Airtel’s this action. Even though this is Airtel’s market strategy to achieve some profit, now it depends on time.

Even though the current customers using Airtel Friends SIM will not face any problem by this action as Airtel is continuing the plan. This is the only good news in this post.
