Firefox 3 was basically re-written from the ground up. Sure it has some not so helpful features, but they can be disabled through about:config. It's more stable. It handles memory better than Firefox 2. I can see no possible reason why you wouldn't like it. It's not really that different. It's more of a core re-write (rendering engine, etc.).
