Rapid share Blocked BSNL IP Address !

28.07.08 | 34 Responses
ADS BY GOOGLE

Rapid share, one of the Biggest and most famous (may be infamous for Software makers) Blocked out the BSNL (Dataone) IP address due to hacking attempts from these IP address. When ever we tried to download anything from Rapid share (OLD BSNL People having OLD IP address starting with 59.XX.XX.XX) got the message like this. while the newer IP address are still free to use the rapidshare.

Massive RapidShare hack attempts detected. IP block 59.90.0.0 – 59.99.255.255 blocked. Please call your internet provider.

So , i think its one of the major step taken by Rapid share guys to block BSNL IP address, i think BSNL is most used ISP in India and Banning those IP address by Rapid share will surely harm rapidshare in sense of finance and over all market of Rapid share will get lost. Other competitors like Deposit Files, MegaFileUpload, etc will surely take benefit from such decisions.

Even me too using BSNL Broadband with the same older IP address, that’s why me too affected due to this, though we can use Proxy servers (Go Google it) to avoid this ban.Proxy will hide your IP address from Rapidshare so you can easily download anything from there servers, but it will surely give low speed. But i personally think its a server side automatic blocking, and may be removed in few days.In a server , if the server finds few IP address as harmfull to it, it automatically blocks it, this may be due to that.

I recommend you all to contact Rapidshare [E-Mail : support@rapidshare.com] in this term and ask them to remove this BAN, as it will surely affect them and we too. Most affected people will be those guys having Premium rapidshare accounts.

UPDATED* : RAPIDSHARE IS NOW OPEN FOR ALL IPs, thanks

UPDATE : (1St AUG 08) : Rapidshare Banned BSNL Dataone AGAIN !!
Giving Error

Error

Massive RapidShare hack attempts detected. IP blocked. Please call your internet provider.

UPDATE : BAN Lifted Again

Try Relakks.Com to hide your IP address. Try for 30 Days and after expire again try it for more 30Days . :D . It will hide your IP address and give temporary solution to your problem.

One of my dear reader (Thanks Surya) sent as e-mail to RapidShare, He got the reply as,

Hello,

we are currently working on this problem and will solve it as fast as
possible.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

unfortunately our security system is blocking the IP address you are using to
access our service.
Our system blocks IP addresses automatically when it detects a massive hack
attempt of our servers.

It seams that the person who is causing the block is operating with the same
ISP or through the same Proxy Server as you are.
We suggest to contact your ISP in this matter, as we are not able to determine
which one of their customers is causing this problem.

We are working with high pressure on a solution to this problem. Unfortunately
we can not just lift the IP ban since this would endanger the entire system
and our customers accounts.

Best regards,

I even called Switzerland a couple of times and sounded them off. Its an automatic ban and if its a continuous ping attack from the Ip range the server will keep reinforcing the ban! Tough luck!

Damn RS, it’s blocked my IP range now. My IP wasn’t affected in the previous ban, but now it’s been banned. WTF are they thinking?

I’m sending them an email right now. I’ll ask them to solve this problem or give me a pro-rated refund for my RS premium account.

BTW Chetan, great idea bro, atm I’m using the VPN you suggested and I’m getting decent download speeds. Thanks.

Will update you guys when I get a reply from RS.

Can BSNL be of any help to us.

I am from Kolkata India and personally talked to BSNL Broadband officers. They are helpless in this situation and only asked us to wait and see.

I was wrong about the timing. More 24 hours have passed- it is still banned.
My friend has a new BSNL connection, with IP address that starts with 119 or something. It’s working for him….

About the proxy- How can I use it if my computer is always connected via the gateway? Proxy usually works for connections that requires dialing. I don’t have to dial. I’d appreciate any help.

BSNL Broadband is not a fool company to block Rapidshare, It works fine I had personally tested rapidshare in 5 different states ie: Goa, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Andra Pradesh and Gujrat. BSNL Broadband is No 1.
