Making Categories, Archives and Tags NOINDEX [Wordpress, Etc] .

This blog is based on Wordpress Platform. I am using All in one SEO pack for SEO of my blog. Its really great plug-in and i recommend all Wordpress users to use it. It helps us to control whole blogs SEO with just simple control panel, No need to edit the files and do coding, etc.

Actually there are three options in All in ONE Seo pack about NO INDEX.
These are ,Use noindex for Categories, Use noindex for Archives, and Use noindex for Tag Archives. with hint that “Check this for excluding tag/categories/Archives pages from being crawled. Useful for avoiding duplicate content“.

I was bit confused about this option , because checking these option will make my pages (Tags, Categories and Archives) to disappear from Google results or from any other search engine results. Because Google doesnt crawl those pages having NOINDEX Meta Tag. I done some research on this then and came to conclusion that , yes we should make our those pages as NOINDEX.

Actually Google hates Duplicate content (Read it here) They have given that , We encourage the webmasters to use NOINDEX tags to avoid duplication of content over same domain name. See..

Google is Strict over duplicate content

Look at those red boxes, and i can say that, we are not the people who are in there so called RARE EVENT. And Strict actions are upto Total removal of our site !!!.
So simply , If you are using Wordpress , use NO INDEX for Categories, Tags, and Archives using Some SEO packs available in Plug-in directory of Wordpress. Same is applicable for all other bloggers and Webmasters too.
